Description

The purpose of the contract is to carry out archaeological excavations prior to the development of the Porte de Tizé business park.
Indeed, the surrounding archaeological context is quite rich, with the Vilaine valley having hosted several human occupations from the prehistoric and historic periods, with in particular the presence of a large manor house to the south-east of the right-of-way along the Vilaine (Manoir de Tizé), as well as a villa which was the subject of a recent excavation (ZAC des Champs Blancs et des Pierrins) to the east of the right-of-way.
What's more, due to the vast surface area of the development, the ZAC Porte de Tizé project in Thorigné-Fouillard was subject to an archaeological survey prior to construction in April 2019. The survey, commissioned by Rennes Métropole and carried out by Inrap, revealed the remains of a manor house dating from the late Middle Ages. The report is attached to this consultation.
By decree 2023-313 dated September 26, 2023, the DRAC ordered archaeological excavations to be carried out. This order and the scientific specifications are attached to this consultation.
