Notice of Intent to Direct AwardIssued: September 7, 2023File #: PHSA 11741NOI Title:  Anaerobic Gas SystemProvincial Health Services AuthorityNotice is hereby given that Interior Health Authority (the “Health Authority”), through it’s agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide three (3) units  Anaerobic Gas System  for Kelowna General Hospital for a term of five (5) years at an estimated value of CAD $95K.Advanced Instruments, LLC Two Technology Way/781-320-9000 Norwood, Massachusetts 02062 USAIn accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason: the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reasons:                       1.  to ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be  maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or its representative;Kelowna General Hospital Laboratory requires three (3) units Anaerobic Gas Systems to create exact, repeatable environments and to culture a wide range of microbes automatically.  In order to ensure all technical procedures remain compatible with current testing and the other labs in IH (KBH, EKH, and RIH), only Advanced Instruments LLC can provide the fully automated Anaerobic Gas Systems to meet the necessary compatibility requirement within the lab. Advanced Instruments LLC is the sole manufacturer and distributor for this equipment platform in Canada.Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Fran Zhang by email to fran.zhang@phsa.ca before 12:00pm Pacific Time, September 18, 2023.
