Description

The proposed contract requires archaeological assessment and services including approximately 18 days of Archaeological Overview Assessments, 85 days of Preliminary Field Assessments/Archaeology Impact Assessments, and 15 days of Summary/Final report (office) & Other, for the Arrow North, South, and Boundary Field Teams, in the Kootenay Business Area.The contract will require a range of qualified professionals and technical staff working in various conditions including isolated areas.Contract deliverables will be planned for completion through the fiscal year, and projects will be completed as per the approved work progress plan and schedules.Obtain a Heritage Conservation Act permit prior to conducting archaeology assessments and must apply within two weeks of signing the contract with the Province. Contact the BCTS contract representative for more information.See the Schedule A Services for specific works required.Questions & AnswersAll contract related questions must be submitted in writing ONLY to the following email address: Forests.KootenayTimberSalesOffice@gov.bc.ca.  Deadline for receiving questions is 12:00 pm on January 7, 2025.  If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by January 8, 2025.    Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package.The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations.
