Description

A micro gas chromatograph (micro GC) is required to analyze the gases produced in a laboratory setup.
It is planned to split methane (CH4) into hydrogen (H2) and solid carbon (C). The presence of other (undesirable) hydrocarbons (CxHy) is to be expected, particularly during the process trials. In order to support or improve the process, the supply of various support gases (e.g. Ar, N2, CO2) should also be considered.
In the future, there is also the possibility of introducing further gaseous hydrogen carriers, e.g. ammonia (NH3).
The process will primarily take place under atmospheric pressure. In the future, initial tests will also take place under increased absolute pressure of up to 10 bar.
After the hydrogen carrier (at least methane) has been partially split, the product gas expanded to ambient pressure is to be analyzed at least with regard to its H2 and CH4 content.
