Network Contracting Office 9 (NCO-9) is issuing this notice for the purposes of conducting market

research to identify parties having an interest in and capabilities to lease the CareFusion Pyxis® Point of

Care Decentralized Automated Dispensing Cabinet Medication Distribution System (CareFusion Pyxis®)

for the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS), consisting of applicable Pyxis® devices, Pyxis® client

software, and training support.

The requirement encompasses the need for the required number of Pyxis® devices and the resources

necessary to assure adequate and secure drug storage throughout TVHS.

The CareFusion Pyxis® system automated dispensing cabinets (ADC) minimize patient s exposure to

medication administration errors while concurrently ensuring the immediate availability of required

medication therapies during patient care. CareFusion Pyxis® functions by communication across all

platforms within the medication use process by way of a dedicated server specifically designed to

support CareFusion Pyxis®.

It is the Government's intent to award a non-competitive action to CareFusion Solutions, LLC of San

Diego, CA. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the

agency. NCO-9 intends to award this under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.405-

6(a)(1)(i)(c), which provides that in the interest of economy and efficiency, the new work is a logical

follow-on to an original Federal Supply Schedule order provided that the original order was placed in

accordance with the applicable Federal Supply Schedule ordering procedures. To date, CareFusion

Solutions is the only known responsible source that can provide the CareFusion Pyxis® System.

ELIGIBILITY

The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is NAICS 532490 Other Commercial and Industrial

Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing with a Small Business Size Standard of $32.5 million. The

Product Service Code is 6515 Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies. Businesses of

all sizes are encouraged to respond; however, each respondent must clearly identify their business size

in their capabilities statement.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

All responsible sources may submit a capability statement that clearly and convincingly identifies their

capability to fulfill the requirements. Capability statements shall be limited to no more than ten (15)

pages (including the cover sheet, table of contents, etc.) Detailed capabilities must be submitted by

email to Mr. Darrin Nicholson (darrin.nicholson@va.gov) in an electronic format that is compatible with

Word 2013, no later than 3:00 pm Eastern, -- 28 June 2019. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed

contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a

competitive procurement.
