Latin America is the largest emerging market, united by Spanish, the second most-spoken language in the world by number of native speakers.

In this session, you will learn about the economies in Mexico, Chile, and Peru, and what makes them attractive for UK businesses to consider doing business there in multiple sectors. We will focus on how best to approach trading in these countries from a cultural perspective to make a memorable first impression, marking the start of a profitable commercial relationship.

You will learn the main common characteristics of business culture in these countries and common pitfalls to avoid at different stages of a commercial relationship with your Latin American counterparts. You will leave the session with clear, actionable strategies to ensure the success of your business venture in these markets.

Gabriela Lemoine

founder and CEO, Accentus Language Services

Originally from Córdoba, Argentina, Gabriela Lemoine is the founder and CEO of Accentus Language Services. Gabriela is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in English and Spanish and she holds an MBA. She served as the first president of the Argentine Association of Language Services (AASL), as Secretary at the Association of Language Companies (ALC) in the USA, a Council member at the Association of Translation Companies (ATC) in the UK, and is an advisory board member at the American Chamber of Commerce in Argentina. With a 25-year background in languages, software engineering, innovation and entrepreneurship, she is a popular international presenter on business and technical topics appealing to both linguists and company owners.
