Description
We will explain how conformity assessment (e.g. testing, certification and inspection) is used, and how accreditation can boost confidence by providing reports and certificates that will support your exports.
We will also explore international infrastructure regarding conformity assessment and accreditation (including ISO, IAF and ILAC), and some of the terminology used. This will include clarification of misunderstandings that are commonly encountered, enabling exporters to have a better understanding of what is required of them.

Kevin Belson
International Technical Manager, UKAS
Kevin Belson is currently celebrating over 22 years at UKAS, initially as an Assessment Manager, leading assessment activities for a wide range of conformity assessment bodies. He now holds the role of International Technical Manager, taking an active role in representing UKAS as well as the needs of UK Government and Stakeholders, in the international and Regional arenas. Kevin represents UKAS at the international level in several forums and technical activities and is the current chair of the IAF (International Accreditation Forum) Technical Committee, the primary global forum for discussing technical issues among accreditation bodies, conformity assessment bodies (e.g. certification bodies, inspection bodies and laboratories) and other international stakeholders. Kevin is a Lead Evaluator within the European co-operation for Accreditation peer evaluation system.
