Joe, together with his business partner Paul Owen started VegTrug in 2009 and it has proven to be a massive success in the garden industry. Now exporting globally, the business has a US subsidiary based in Pennsylvania to support sales efforts in America and a second subsidiary in Germany.

Having achieved great success in his commercial endeavours throughout his career, Joe was asked to sit on the Board of The Federation of Garden & Leisure Manufacturers in 2015, becoming Chairman in 2020 and now appointed Director General in 2025. The Federation incorporates Gardenex, PetQuip and the Commercial Horticultural Association. These institutions assist British businesses to export and international businesses to work within the UK.

Global Digital Commerce & Marketplace Lead, DBT
Lucy Haine is the Global Digital commerce and marketplace lead at the Department for Business and Trade, managing multiple marketplace relationships including Amazon. Lucy supports UK companies in developing their digital strategy and capability. With an industry background, Lucy worked in senior leadership teams for UK High Street Retail brands including M&S, Debenhams and Monsoon Accessorize, focused on International multi-channel expansion.
