Empowering every learner: Everway’s commitment to inclusive education in the Middle East

Everway, a global education technology leader with 250 million users worldwide, is expanding across the Middle East with tools that break down learning barriers. The company’s inclusive suite — Read&Write, ExamWritePad, and OrbitNote — supports diverse needs through features like text-to-speech, translation and accessible PDFs.

Recently, Everway has focused on adapting its tools to support students of determination and English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners in the region, making exams and assessments accessible and inclusive.

While addressing a key gap: training for Learning Support Assistants (LSA), a challenge arose in the UAE where LSAs were often undertrained in using assistive technology to support Students of Determination and EAL learners. To meet this challenge Everway launched a self-paced, 3-hour online training programme for LSAs.

The programme:

  • is fully Continuing Professional Development certified and created in partnership with the British Assistive Technology Association
  • introduces LSAs to a wide range of assistive tools and inclusive strategies
  • equips LSAs with practical knowledge and confidence to support diverse learners
  • is currently available in English, with an Arabic version launching soon
  • Just months after its launch, almost 1,500 LSAs across the UAE, including those in schools groups such as GEMS and Aldar, have completed the training, marking a significant shift in inclusive practice within schools.

Supporting Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge’s (ADEK) inclusion policy

This initiative directly supports ADEK’s Inclusion Policy by promoting equitable access to learning. Everway’s LSA training offers practical, accessible development for all school staff.

Growing impact across the region

Everway’s inclusive tools are now used widely across UAE classrooms, with major education groups on board. The next phase will extend the initiative to Qatar, expanding its reach across the Gulf.

Everway’s inclusion strategy goes beyond support staff, with the next phase focusing on training classroom teachers. This ensures inclusive technology becomes part of everyday teaching, not just a specialist tool.
