Don’t delay: Prepare to export under the UK-India Free Trade Agreement

Thursday 12 March at 9:00AM

Act now to register with HMRC and ensure your UK exports to India qualify for preferential tariffs under the UK-India Free Trade Agreement.

What you’ll learn

  • Confirm if your business needs to register to complete origin declarations under the UK–India Free Trade Agreement.
  • Prepare and complete registration by understanding what information is needed and how to navigate the HMRC portal.
  • Meet post-registration responsibilities, including completing and sending origin declarations so importers in India can claim preferential tariffs.

Description

Don't miss out! The UK-India Trade Agreement is coming into force soon, and includes a new way to confirm the origin of UK goods. If you plan on exporting goods to India and taking advantage of the reduced tariffs, you need to register with HMRC. This session will talk you through exactly how to do this, how to find out what your saving might be, and what steps you need to take to make sure you can send goods to India under the reduced tariff.

Without registration, importers cannot claim preferential tariffs, even if goods meet the rules of origin. Attendees will leave this session ready to register and benefit from tariff preferences from day one.
