EU regulations came into force in December 2024 for consumer products to the EU. Join us for this deep dive webinar where we lift the lid on EU GPSR compliance, taking a very detailed look at the product safety risk assessment, technical file, and labelling elements; exploring what compliance looks like for several sample sectors.
What you’ll learn
- Understand your role in the supply of goods from this regulation’s perspective
- Understand your full obligations based on the role you play
- Understand market surveillance and how to ensure compliance so your goods continue to move freely into the EU
Description
Over a year since its implementation, EU GPSR continues to be a source of concern for UK exporters; the regulation has had a profound impact on the volume of companies continuing to export to the EU and the number of businesses that can no longer ensure they are compliant.
Whilst the regulation is vast in terms of the number of business sectors impacted, compliance is actually very achievable for UK businesses who have always prioritised product safety and abided by the UK’s General Product Safety Regulations 2005, a derivative of the previous EU General Product Safety Directive.
Furthermore, the UK’s Product Regulation and Metrology Bill gaining Royal Assent is the clearest sign yet that the UK could be looking to align itself with EU GPSR to help address regulatory divergence post Brexit and positively impact UK-EU trade. Therefore, work undertaken now to align with EU GPSR could stand companies in good stead to conform to future UK secondary product safety regulation.
Now that the regulation has bedded in, we’ll also provide updates on trends, developments, enforcement observations, and interaction with other EU current and future regulatory changes.
