Description
Carlow County Council is proposing to create an Taste inCarlow Trail which is a directory of places to purchase locally produced products and Local Taste Experiences on a Countywide basis. This will encourage people in County Carlow and the surrounding counties to experience the Taste inCarlow Experience. The project is Countywide funded under the Town & Village Renewal Scheme and covers the following settlements Carlow Town, Tullow ,Muinebheag ,Rathoe ,Palatine, Bennekerry,Grange/Killerig, Ballinabrannagh/ Raheendoran, Bilboa, Old Leighlin, Graiguenalug/Nurney, Fenagh ,Myshall,Ardattin, Ballinkillen , Garryhill,Clonmore
,Newtown,Ticknock,Glynn,St. Mullins,Rathanna,Ballymurphy,Drumphea
Borris, Rathvilly, Leighlinbridge, Carrigduff and Tinnahinch. It is envisaged 25-30 points will feature on the map
Premises that feature on the Trail will include:
(1) Key retail establishments which support locally manufactured food & drink products (excluding Off-Licences & Supermarkets).
(2) Local Taste Experiences who have quality food and drink experience as part of their offering (pubs, restaurants & hospitality enterprises).
(3) Local Taste Experience Venues.
It is envisaged that there will be 25-30 establishments on the Trail. The Trail is part of a wider Food & Drink strategy for County Carlow.
During October 2020, Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office will develop a partnership with the Trail Members who will sign a charter to become part of the Trail. At present, Carlow County Council is developing Taste in Carlow Food & Drink Brand Guidelines which will be ready by late October 2020. The guidelines will be based on the inCarlow Guidelines and include an inCarlow – Food & Drink Logo & Taste in Carlow campaign badge.
